When I first opened our store in 2002, I tried so many different selling platforms until I settled on osCommerce. I loved learning the coding necessary to make the store look and operate the way I wanted it to. I'm a bit of a computer nerd, if you didn't know.
When I closed my online shop to move from Tennessee to Ohio, I never anticipated how much time would pass before I would decide to reopen. It's been twelve years, y'all. (That's hard to type. It hasn't felt like twelve years.)
So here I am, ready to dive in again! Err, well, I'm mostly ready. Things have changed so much in the time that I've been embracing my role as domestic engineer for my family. Instead of diving head first into coding again with osCommerce, I went with a more hit-the-ground-running solution: Shopify. I have to say, I'm super impressed so far.
Another decision I went back and forth with is whether to start over completely fresh or to bring back some of my best-selling pieces. At least for now, I've decided to bring them back. They're sentimental to me. They're what started it all.
Sadly, many of these pieces are going to have to be limited edition because the materials I used are no longer available. Thank goodness I held onto my inventory.
